Double Digit Click
Through Rates For Google AdWords
Discover How & Why To Get Double Digit
CTRs
Many businesses want to generate more enquiries and sales via their
websites. Possibly the easiest way to do this is by generating Pay Per Click (PPC) search traffic using Google
AdWords. Now if you have tried this yourself you may have experienced Click Through Rates (CTR) of less than 1%.
This is quite typical and yet it can be very frustrating for novice AdWords users to know how to improve
this.
What Does A Low Click Through Rate Mean? Put simply it means that there is a poor connection between
the search term entered and your Advert. Only a small proportion of people searching on your bid keyword are
clicking on your advert and hence through to your website.
Why does this matter? Well this first obvious reason why it matters is because you are missing
most of the people who searched for your products or services who didn’t click on your advert. So a 1% CTR means
that 99% of the searcher for your bid term didn’t click your Advert or get to your website.
It also matters because Google awards you a Quality Score (QS) for your bid keyword + Advert
combination. This Quality Score certainly includes Click Through Rate as a key determinant. The result of having
good Quality Scores is that you pay less for each click than someone with the same bid keyword and a lower Quality
Score.
So the bottom line is Good CTR = More Clicks at a Lower Cost Per Click
